Figuring Out Me

These are a few of my favorite things at the moment.
I love having pretties around me as I work.
Pretty is in the eye of the beholder, for sure.
I like little friends…

As a wee girl, we moved a lot,
and so something that would fit inside a little purse was key. The tiniest of dolls or little animals would always capture me and keep me entertained.
I even had a sewing box that held a couple whimsical animals of soft plastic~
My best sewing box friend was Sniffles, a cute pink elephant. I would make her little skirts from my Mother’s fabric scraps.
Wherever I was, I had my little friends.
As time went on, my sewing basket would also include little treasures such as rocks, shells and tiny feathers.
I still keep these things on my window sills to this day.

Now, as we start to move out of the hardest times of the Pandemic, navigate issues or shortages, and grieve those we have lost….
I find myself more comfortable in being more introvert.

My “Creeps” have replaced the pretties of long ago. They are near by as I work and keep me company…even Gloomessa, who will be going to her new home, but has to wait a little longer.
While I work with my Creeps around and treasures on the window sill, I keep another thing dear…
Whatever my vessel is for my morning coffee, or the endless tea for the rest of the day…
the vessel itself is chosen carefully each morning; for that is the way my day will go.
Sometimes I am a bit missing home and my mountains, and so the sheep mug is in order.
Sometimes I am keeping witchy magic important…and still others need a snappy comment to keep the day sassy.

Am I odd? I’m sure, to some degree…
But hopefully, I have hit upon some things that you can connect with and just make your heart smile.

A Fresh, New Start

Our world has changed so much in the past couple years...

I have been mourning the loss of so much.
I kept going to my blog and wanting to
write,
but it was so hard.
I pondered it over many an afternoon tea
and thought...
perhaps with so many changes,
a fresh new start would help.
I hope this is a soft place to land here.
 ...A slow place to enjoy,
along with a lovely cup of tea
